As part of a political breakfast organized by the House of Pharma & Healthcare, representatives from academia, industry, and politics gathered for an exchange at the Department of Pharmacy of Goethe University Frankfurt.

A special highlight of the program was an insight into the research activities of PROXIDRUGS. Project lead Maike Windbergs guided State Secretary Dr. Optendrenk through her laboratories and presented innovative approaches in drug delivery and human in vitro models. The visit provided a tangible demonstration of how new therapeutic concepts are developed and prepared for application – making science practical and directly experienceable.

The discussion also addressed current pharmaceutical topics, including the ongoingdevelopment of the pharmacy profession, new areas of public responsibility such as vaccination services in pharmacies, as well as the current situation of pharmacy students and early-career support.

The political breakfast once again underlined the importance of continuous dialogue between politics, academia, and practice in strengthening Hesse as a pharmaceutical hub.
