Dr. Johannes Dreizler was awarded the 2026 Kurt Ruths Prize by TU Darmstadt. Endowed with €12,000, the prize recognizes outstanding scientific achievements by early-career researchers.
Johannes Dreizler earned his PhD at the Department of Chemistry at TU Darmstadt in the research group of PROXIDRUGS project leader Prof. Felix Hausch. In his dissertation, he developed novel molecular glues for targeted cancer therapy. These compounds bring disease-relevant target proteins into close proximity with the body’s own functional proteins and can thereby influence their pathological function.
His research made important contributions to the further development of competitive molecular glues and also fed into activities of the PROXIDRUGS Cluster4Future. The most promising compounds are currently being tested in cellular cancer models and prepared for preclinical studies.
