PROXIDRUGS and Futury initiate strategic cooperation to promote life science start-ups

The Cluster4Future PROXIDRUGS and the innovation platform Futury GmbH have formed a strategic partnership with the aim of setting new standards for the transfer of bioscientific research into viable business models. The aim is to promote the sustainable formation and growth of research-based start-ups in the Rhine-Main region.

The Focus of the collaboration is the creation of specific support structures for start-ups in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors. PROXIDRUGS will contribute scientific expertise as well as life science and pharmaceutical know-how, while Futury will contribute its extensive network of universities, industry partners and investors in the start-up sector.

‘With Futury, we are gaining a strong partner with many years of experience who has already initiated over 200 start-up and industry collaborations. Together, we want to utilize the enormous potential of our cluster research even more effectively and accelerate the transfer to application by supporting founders on their journey from an initial idea to a  market-ready biotech company’, explains Kersti Koch, lead of the innovationmangement at PROXIDRUGS.

Futury's goal is to initiate over 1,000 new start-ups in the Rhine-Main region by 2030, with a particular focus on scalable innovations in research and education. The cooperation with PROXIDRUGS is intended in particular to facilitate the Cluster access to start-up expertise, pilot partners from industry and capital.

‘The future of the healthcare sector lies at the intersection of excellent research, entrepreneurship, and industrial collaboration. With PROXIDRUGS at our side, we are strengthening this interface and creating new opportunities for bioscientific innovations made in Germany’, explains Charlie Müller, Managing Director of Futury.
